First Look: Inside The Foundry District’s Sweet Tooth Motel

BY SAMANTHA CALIMBAHIN, FORT WORTH MAGAZINE, JUNE 3, 2021

The next best spot to snag a #selfie opens this weekend at The Foundry District.

The Sweet Tooth Motel, an offshoot of Dallas’ popular Sweet Tooth Hotel, opens Saturday at 2600 Weisenberger St. Like its Dallas counterpart, the exhibit consists of multiple rooms featuring immersive, interactive art installations — from a 1970s-style hair salon to a sweets-inspired bathroom decorated with oversized doughnuts and a tub visitors can climb into for photo-ops.

Additionally, guests can walk through Inspiration Alley, The Foundry District’s wall-to-wall mural gallery, to get to a separate 20-foot shipping container with more artistic backdrops to explore.

The Sweet Tooth Motel marks the start of a major expansion coming to The Foundry District. The development, which is managed by Fort Worth-based real estate company M2G Ventures, will also be adding more art, as well as a new Fort Worth Bike Sharing cycle station with bikes branded specifically for the district.

A grand opening celebration for Sweet Tooth Motel is scheduled for June 18. Get tickets at sweettoothmotel.com, and read more about The Foundry District’s expansion plans here.
