Cowtown Marathon moving headquarters west of downtown.

The Cowtown Marathon has outgrown its current headquarters at Park Place Avenue and will be moving to a new location west of downtown.

The offices of the annual running event will be relocated from 1612 Park Place Ave. to 2621 Whitmore St., behind the Target store north of West Seventh Street. In a seven-year lease facilitated by Northern Realty Group, the Cowtown Marathon will occupy 10,310 square feet of a building totaling about 60,000 square feet. Along with offices, the marathon will also have storefront retail, warehouse and classroom space.

The building will undergo renovation in the next few weeks, with Fort Worth real estate investment group M2G Ventures handling the exterior and Fort Worth contractor Domeo Design Build handling the interior, said Heidi Swartz, executive director of the Cowtown Marathon.
