Central Texas Flood Resources

“The tragedy that is unfolding in front of us is unimaginable for so many people, in and outside of our community. We will stand with them, however we can, forever. This is just the first step.” – Jessica Miller Essl, Co-founder of M2G Ventures

Our hearts are with Kerrville and all of Central Texas devastated by the recent floods. This tragedy is deeply personal to us as we’ve all suffered heartbreak.

It’s difficult to find emotional footing in the aftermath of an event like this, and we’ve found ourselves cycling through the full spectrum of feeling. Helplessness and heartbreak. Anger, followed by frustration that there is nothing to do with that anger. Moments of hope. Then, ultimately, profound sadness that evolves into grief.

It’s the unthinkable grief that compels us to action. As we reflect on these emotions, there is only one that we’re in a position to reclaim — replacing helpless with an unwavering commitment to make an impact.

At M2G, we’re committed to supporting all those impacted as they work to find their way forward. Healing includes the heart and mind, addressing the damage that can’t be seen or quickly remediated. Through our Mental Health Initiative and as a first step toward making an abiding impact, we’re sharing resources below to help you give or receive support.

Looking ahead, we are diligently researching and seeking out a sustaining partnership that is dedicated to mental health services for children and families centered around the Central Texas floods. Please stay tuned as we navigate the weeks ahead.

Texas is a vast state, yet a tight-knit community. That is evidenced both by the reach of this heartbreak and the scale of the public response. We stand with you and know that the strength, generosity, and resilience of Texans will come through to help heal the Hill Country.

With our deepest prayers,
Susan and Jessica
