From Novices to Connoisseurs – Your Custom Wine Journey Begins at Thirty Eight & Vine

A glass of wine and a toast to good times. Sam and Jennifer Demel, native Texans and TCU grads, felt that the picturesque wine tours of Napa Valley were missing from Fort Worth. The couple has now brought this approachable wine concept to the Foundry District of Fort Worth – with plans to soon expand. Introducing – Thirty Eight & Vine. 

From the pleasant aroma escaping this spectacular nectar of earth, to the animated “cheers” as stemmed glasses clank together – the wine experience is no doubt a magical encounter. 

From novices to connoisseurs, Thirty Eight & Vine is creating customizable experiences for Fort Worth locals regardless of their wine level. Highly skilled and knowledgeable staff are eager to help you discover a rich understanding of the wines you taste. 

When you walk through the door of Thirty Eight & Vine, you’ll be issued a wine card that gives you access to the dispenser. These wine dispensers are available for you to taste and try wines at your leisure. You may decide on your favorite and from there purchase by the glass to enjoy or simply keep exploring to your heart’s content. 

Jennifer Demel, co-founder and owner of Thirty Eight & Vine, shares a little more about the concept and atmosphere of their unique neighborhood wine bar off Carroll Street. 

At many other wine bars, you most likely would need to buy the bottle or by the glass to enjoy the exclusive wines. Not here. “We do anything from 95 cents an ounce up to $195 an ounce. You can try things where you don’t have to commit to a full glass,” Demel says. “We cater to all different budgets and wine knowledge.” 

Off the beaten path, Demel shares why the couple chose to bring Thirty Eight & Vine to the Foundry District. “When we went down to the Foundry, we really loved the appeal of it being the shop local and small business owner that caters to the entrepreneurs. We were surrounded by several small business owners,” Demel says.  

The atmosphere is perfectly befitting and the interior aesthetics match the quaint neighborhood vibe. “We really wanted a rich lush feel. I wanted you to walk in and not necessarily feel like you were in Fort Worth,” Demel says. The couple liked that this space felt cozy – a place you could linger, lose time, and enjoy wine.
