Take us through a day in the life of the SVP of Leasing at M2G Ventures!
Everyday is different – which I love! From unexpected prospects popping up to take a space, to meeting people from all types of industries that are tenants at our projects, to hours spent on the phone with our brokers…leasing at M2G is fast paced & fun (hectic at times, in a good way!), and you have to be able to pivot when needed in order to keep everything on track. I love the people I work with both internally on our team and externally with our awesome partners and brokers.

How did you get started in leasing?
My father has been in Commercial Real Estate for over 40 years. From a young age, I watched him have fun in this business, provide his family with a great life, and coach all of my sports teams as a kid. I knew I wanted to be in a business that allowed for all of that, while still being able to provide financial security (and have fun doing it!). I got started as soon as I graduated from college, working directly with my Dad…from my first (tiny) office Tenant Rep deal in 2008, I was hooked.

What is the most interesting or exciting lease you’ve ever executed?
This is a tough one! I’ve had many ‘interesting’ deals over the years…I would have to say the most recent and exciting deal I have worked on is a 376,000 SF deal at our project in North Fort Worth. I can’t give away all the details at the moment, but there were a lot of ups and downs and watching our team work together to come up with solutions to issues that seemed to keep popping up was really encouraging and fun to be a part of. At the end of the day, we got it done and it was a huge victory for the team.

What is your favorite M2G project, and why?
Each property has its own character and charm, but I would have to say PROTO Park in Dallas. I have watched the transformation from start to finish, and saw our business plan executed exactly how we drew it up (even beating expectations). It is really cool to be a part of that from beginning to end.

You have a very exciting event coming up this fall! Can you share some details on your upcoming wedding?
Yes, I will be getting married (to a Commercial Real Estate attorney of all things 😉) in October in Highlands, NC. We are very excited and happy to be building a life in Fort Worth together.

Of course, we can’t have a spotlight on you without mentioning a very important member of the Besserer family! Can you tell us a little bit about your dog, Bear?
Bear is an American Akita. He is about 120 pounds of pure baby fat. He is a huge part of our life along with our other dog, Marlie (a female yellow lab mutt). They love each other and are truly the odd couple.

Let’s end the debate! Which is superior: La Croix or Topo Chico?
Topo Chico came first, so let’s just go with that. Can’t beat the original.
